The most advanced entry level shoe on the market. Slight camber and more asymmetric fit than traditional entry level shoes. Creates a more precise connection between climber and hold. PSR 4. The LV model has 6% lower overall volume than Defy for narrower feet or a snugger, higher performance fit.

The Evolv Defy Rock Climbing Shoe is an advanced entry-level rock shoe. Designed with slight asymmetry and camber, the Defy allows for more precise foot placements, helping new climbers improve more quickly when compared to most flat, symmetric beginner climbing shoes. The Defy also has a PSR rating of 4 and a 3.5mm outsole, making it sensitive enough for smearing while retaining enough power for edging on small holds. We made the upper out of a perforated microsuede for increased breathability, and the TRAX SAS outsole is the stickiest rubber compound that we make. A single hook-and-loop strap ensures a performance fit as well as quick-and-easy on-and-off between boulder problems.

PSR is a shoe selection tool that ranges from (1) sensitive/smearing to (10) powerful/edging. PSR 1-3. Highly sensitive smearing and volumes. PSR 4-7. Versatile for smearing and edging. PSR 8-10. Powerful for small holds.

Evolv shoes are not designed to be downsized. Evolv sizing uses three categories of fit: Max Performance. Utra Snug. Use Street shoe size. Performance. Snug. Add .5 to 1.0 sizes to street size. Comfort. Relaxed. add 1.0 to 1.5 sizes to street size.
